    Used a hub buster today. Made about 10 hits with 10lbs sledge hammer. Didn't think the hub was coming out after hit #10 . But it came out. Thanks hub buster!

    Not does what you thought you were proving by jacking the bearing. That’s where all the weight is supposed to be. Pushing up doesn’t do shit. You have to pull OUT.

    Put a thick coat of marine grease on your splines and flanges during install and you won’t have a problem getting them off next time.

    Same situation. Don't want to spend $$$ for something I will not use after it's done. I know the old hub is trash. So? I used a chisel and a regular house hammer along with a can of liquid wrench and wacked it from the inside, where the e brake cable connected. Did take some time. But, I'd rather pay and loose a chisel over $$.

    Good way to bend the axle putting that jack directly under the hub and putting all that weight directing on the hub!

    I guarantee after he posted this, his design got copied and sold into oblivion. No updates, no website, a bunch on amazon with different names from other tool companies. Its a tough sell when the average DIY can rent a bearing puller or slide hammer from the autoparts store for free.

    This thing is bullshit on a Subaru hub. I’ve been there done that! All that would do was bend the shit out of the hub and never removed it. I tried a large heavy duty slide hammer and ended up just ripping the hub and bearings right out of the housing. Ended up taking to Subaru dealership to have it removed and they told me the only way to remove these is with a air hammer on the back side of the hub. They had it off in 30mins. I never in my life seen a hub that I couldn’t get off till this Subaru

  • @f3arful
    @f3arful 3 года назад

    Not effective there's much better and safer ways of doing this. Invest in an air hammer You hack.

    Rear bearing is still in the race, it appears you snapped the hub in 2. try getting that out with your hammer.

  • @YouStupidBunny

    It may have already been said, but that tool uses the same principal as using a pipe wrench on the hub flange. You probably already have a pipe wrench. If not, go to Harbor Freight and get one for $20. It's also a tool you can use for other jobs.

  • @rustyaxelrod

    Looks like a good last ditch effort tool. If they won’t tap out or come out with a slide hammer, this would be better than pulling the strut to get it in a press but it does roll the bearing from the seat rather than pulling it straight out.

    What a bunch of idiotic comments by morons who have either never done a bearing and hub before or having nothing else to do with themselves. Well, I did my own and it was the most frozen hub I had ever worked with. I ordered the hub buster and it took lots of hits but the whole assembly did com off. This product works and I will surely keep it in my tool chest. The only place where I could find it was Amazon. This product solved my problem. Great job to whoever created this tool. Thank you and to the morons: go find something to do with yourselves.
